THIS
YEAR'S UNDERGRADUATE CAREER FAIR
WAS A SUCESS!
WHO WAS THERE:
250+ (and counting!) motivated and prepared SDSU Undergraduate Business
Students.
Local employers looking for top talent at the fair included:
Aztec
Business Alliance Brings Graduate Students to Local Employers

More than ever, the Aztec Business Alliance (ABA) is reaching out
to students, as well as the local business community. ABA was originally
established to coordinate internships and the case consulting projects
which are the capstone to the MBA program. Today, the ABA has expanded
to be the liaison between SDSU business students looking for career
opportunities and companies seeking talent.
On April 5, in the Aztec Athletic Center Hall of
Fame, the ABA hosted Meet the Masters, a career and networking reception
designed to connect SDSU graduate business students with premier
regional employers. Meet the Masters is an opportunity to link students
in the master’s program to companies interested in their specialized
talents.
An undergraduate business career fair was held
on April 23 in Montezuma Hall. The success of the fair, which was
a pilot event with 25 corporate exhibitors, was heavily dependent
on student participation. Due in large part to support from the
ABSC and faculty in-class announcements, over 300 business students
actively participated in the event.
The level of professionalism and preparedness that the CBA students
exhibited (business attire, resumes, preliminary company research)
uniformly impressed company recruiters, who expressed their intent
to renew their participation for next year. Exhibitors included
Wells Fargo, AMN Healthcare, Viejas, New England Financial, Proflowers
and Jack in the Box.
In addition to Meet the Masters and the undergraduate
career fair, the ABA hosted a joint career fair. Hire San Diego
is a joint graduate student career fair hosted by SDSU, UCSD and
USD. All ABA events are geared to bringing the students face-to-face
with business leaders and potential employers. SDSU Career Services
contributes greatly to these events by providing resume and interview
workshops to students.
